Global Seasons and Texas Reasons

Today, I’m thinking back to when my back acre was alive with life.

When the wildflowers were in bloom.

And, the grass was green.

And, my yard didn’t look like a scene out of “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.”

Have you been to Texas in August?

Nuff said.

Now, the grass is tender and brown and my yard shows more bare earth than lush anything.

We are under water restrictions where I live, but I wouldn’t water anyway. It’s a moot point this time of year when Mother Nature proves she’s in charge and the rain clouds heed her warnings.

Plus, if we do get rain, we’d probably get a tornado thrown in with it.

Seasons.

We all have them. And, we all live through them. No matter what time of year, we know what’s coming.

Very different from other seasons in our lives, right?

Right now, we all are in the same season for once. A global season, in fact. How does that make you feel?

From Ecclesiastes 3:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
