Two Tips to Better Understand God’s Word

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (FBV) says, “Always be full of joy, never stop praying, be thankful in every situation—because this is what God in Christ Jesus wants you to do.”

While the same verses in the World English Bible (US) version say,
“[16] Always rejoice. [17] Pray without ceasing. [18] In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.”

Do you ever read different versions of the Bible to see what they say?

I do.

A lot.

I’m just going to be honest here. Sometimes, when I’m reading the Word…

I. Am. So. Confused.

Are you?

Or is it just me?

But I have one simple trick to pass on to you:

✅Check out different versions.

And it’s super easy if you’re using a Bible app. I use Youversion’s mobile app. You can find them online at Bible.com.

I tap on the scripture I want to understand more fully, then hit “compare,” and voila! I can pick different versions to see what they say. Sometimes just seeing it a little differently makes all the difference in my comprehension.

I hope this tip helps you grow closer to God.

Here’s your bonus tip:

Tip #2: Stay in His Word. The more you are in it, the more it clicks. I promise. Keep reading. Keep listening. God has great things to tell us if we stick with Him.

John 10:27 WEBUS
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

The more you spend time with someone, the more you know them. The more you know their mannerisms. The more you know their voice. 🥰

Stick with God today. And if you don’t understand a scripture or something that He is teaching you, just ask Him. He promises in Jeremiah 33:3 ( WEBUS):

“Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.”

I hope this helps you on your Christian journey.
