Louis L’Amour Quotes, The Writing Life, and New Writing Goals for 2025

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧. ~𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐋’𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫

I’ve seen this quote way too often lately. And it made me think of my own writing.

Too often, I allow other things to take over my writing time. Laundry. Emails. Scrolling on here. 🙂

But my writing is important. Why is it that we let the most IMPORTANT thing to us, slip past us? We put it on the back burner for “one day” or “when I have enough time.”

I know for me, I will never have enough time. I must make the time.

Time thieves are everywhere. And, yes. Some things that pop up are important and need to be handled immediately. But more often than not, it’s just me getting in the way of my writing.

So I am committing this year to write every single day. Even if it’s only for five minutes. Because my writing is important to me. And I have to make it important in my life.

So I’m turning the faucet on, and I’m letting it flow.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆? Even for five minutes. I am putting “writing on my cozy mystery” on my calendar for this afternoon RIGHT NOW.

Remember, your writing is important. Our world needs your words.
