The Lord gave us an out from our transgressions. With one simple sacrifice, Jesus paved the way for His grace to overflow in our lives giving us relief and peace.
Today, we are going to talk about Truth. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Let’s begin.
God’s truth is real.
It isn’t sugar coated.
It isn’t veiled in mysteries or hard to obtain.
Living in God’s truths is so easy, He made sure anyone could do it.
The truth is, He loves us. It’s as simple as that. He loves us and wants what’s best for us.
God wants to bless you.
He loves you and wants to outpour the treasures of heaven on your head.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.
Malachi 3:10-12 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/mal.3.10-12.NIV
God set an example for us with His giving.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Luke 6:38 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/luk.6.38.NIV
You give. God gives.
And, God LOVES to give! He gave His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins so that we may have eternal life. That we could gain life. And, I don’t know about you, but I want to live. Not a mediocre existence, but an extraordinarily, God-blessed, fantastical existence!
Don’t we all? I mean. I don’t think any of us is sitting around planning their future saying, “I think I’ll see how many years I can sit in this recliner doing absolutely nothing and die leaving nothing to show of my existence except the butt indention in this chair.”
God knows what you’re thinking.
EEK! That’s scary!
He knows what you’re doing.
You can’t hide anything from God.
And, you know what?
He can handle it! There is nothing you can do that will drive God away from you. He is here through it all. Through your cussing and your drinking. Through your adultery and lying. Through each and every bad thing, bad attitude and “sin” you can conjure. He is here. Ready for you to go, “Hey, God. I messed up. Can you help me out?”
And, you know what? He will.
In an instance.
In the blink of an eye.
Before you can say “calf rope” as my sister says.
He. Is. Here. Wherever you are. Whatever your circumstances. Call on Him, and He is here. Test me on it. And, find His peace that surpasses all understanding. Even in your junk.
I think that’s the scariest part of trusting God. That even when everything is falling apart and your walls are tumbling down, you can still have His peace surrounding you. It’s weird to the outside world. “Why aren’t your worried?” “Shouldn’t you be freaked out and concerned about *insert latest calamity here?” Reach out to God.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/php.4.6-7.NIV
Today, I am reaching out to God on some things. And, I will reread this and live in His peace knowing that He can handle it, and thankfully, I don’t have to. That’s His truth.
