Today, during my church’s service, we read this scripture.
And I don’t know what it is about it but, when I read or hear it, it always hits me.
Hard.
Maybe it’s the similarities to Paul’s writings in Revelation. I love hearing about those angels!
But I feel all powerful in the Spirit after I read it. Like I need to do something. I feel all, “Yes, Lord! Send MEEEEEE!” Shouting at the top of my lungs as I run around in triumph and confidence!
I pray I will go when God calls me to His purpose. Will you?
Here’s the scripture below. How does it make you feel? Does it call you to action? Let me know!
May the God of Peace bless you today.

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”
Then I said, “How long, O Lord?” And he said: “Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is a desolate waste, and the Lord removes people far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land. And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled.” The holy seed is its stump. I can understand your wish to respond and, fullfil, the call spoken of in Isaiah 6:1-13 (KJV) for all those with a willing heart would be more than happy to do so, however, God said by way of the Christ, that this prophecy ‘as already been fulfilled…’ we find this just after the parable of the sower:
10)
The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
11)
He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
12)
Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
13)
This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14)
In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15)
For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’
16)
But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
17)
For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. (Matthew 4:10-17 (KJV))
******
This is not to say that more person’s of that ilk are not be found even today, after all… “…there is no new thing under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9 (KJV)) but the prophecy, itself as been fulfilled…

I love parallels in scripture. Jesus always quoted and pointed people to the Word of God. I will always be sent by God. And there will always be people who listen and who don’t. Ahhhhh the life of a Christ follower 💖
