Question Time, Folks! Plan it? Or wing it?

I have a question for you today.

Are you a planner?

You know. The type who loves planners, journals, to-do lists and all the check boxes and bullet points? You can handle them ALL!

Or are you more of the “Wing It” type, throwing caution to the wind in a YOLO-ing adventure?

Or are you somewhere in between?

I talk about this in my book 6 Days with Matthew 6*.

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus says, “So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow can worry about itself. There’s already enough evil in every day.” FBV

And in Proverbs 19:21 it says, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

I know that God has every moment of my life planned before time began, and I know that His Will will be done…

But, WOW is it hard.

I soooooooooo want to plan every millisecond. I love my checklists and my planners. I love to schedule in every minute and seeing my entire calendar filled with fun and opportunities. Ahhhhh. It’s like soaking in a bubble bath at the perfect temp with just the right amount of bubbles. And no interruptions!

But in reality, I tend to have a lot of mark throughs. Instead of triumphantly ticking off my to-do’s, I end up pushing them back, rescheduling them until tomorrow, or not doing them all together.

I end up frustrated when MY plans don’t go MY way.
As much as I want to plan every moment of my day. I know I can’t. I know that GOD is in ultimate control and that what He has planned for me is considerably better than I could ever ask or think. He is good. And He has my day in His capable hands.

So, whichever one you lean toward, UBER PLANNER like me, or “easy, breezy beautiful” (Who remembers that ad?), I encourage you. Consult with God first. And let’s see what HE has planned for you today.

What are your thoughts on planning and scheduling? Hit reply and let’s chat.

Do you find planning makes you feel more in control? Let me know!
