You will seekย me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)

“With all your heart.”

I simply love this verse. It’s chock full of so many promises.

In these few words, God promises that we will find him.

He promises.

If we seek him with all our hearts.

What does that mean?

When you fall in love for the first time, how does it feel? Are you half in? Three quarters in?

Or, are you all in?

Well, for some of us, it could be the first two. But, how does that go? Do you get the full experience of love when you are only partially participating? Do you receive all the feels, the tingles, the mind blowing anticipation when that person is about to be near you.

I would say no.

I’ve been there.

The same thing works with seeking God.

I’ve been there, too.

Are you all in?

Partially in?

Do you believe one day but then your friends–who don’t believe in God–ask you to do something that doesn’t line up with his Word, and He is a distant memory?

Do you feel alone, separated from Him and not on speaking terms?

Now think about it in earthly terms: If you are in a relationship, and “one foot is out the door” as they say, and your friends want you to go to a strip club/bar/etc… to hang out, what happens when you see your partner again?

Do you feel alone, separated from them and not on speaking terms?

I thought so.

Seeking a true relationship with someone is not a half-hearted affair. It is not “whenever it is convenient.” It is not there only when you need something. It is a steady back and forth of communication, respect and love. Trust me. God wants to have a full-hearted, 100%-all-in relationship with one person.

You.

And, he wants it now.

โ€œI love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.โ€

โ€ญโ€ญProverbsโ€ฌ โ€ญ8:17โ€ฌ โ€ญESVโ€ฌโ€ฌ

“Those who seek me diligently.” I love this part. And, aren’t we the same way: “I love those who love me.”

Isn’t it nice to feel loved? When you love someone immensely and then they return the favor? When that person you’ve been crushin’ on for years looks at you with those eyes of, “Hey, I like you too.”

Ooooh! I’m getting on the feels like when the guy and the gal have been trying to say “I like you” through the entire movie and then they finally get to be together in the end. I love the feels!

God has all the feels for us. He loves us. Each and every one. Even if we don’t love him back. But, boy howdy, let me tell ya! If you love Him back, He is here for you. Always.

He loves you. And, just like He diligently seeks after you, He’d love for you to diligently seek after Him, too.

Seek him and you will find him. He promises you that.

Is it your day to be “all in” with God?
