“On our behalf.”
These are the words I heard today while praying for my family. You might remember a while back when I wrote to you about it. (Here’s the link if you need a refresh.) So much was and is still going on. We are still in the thick of it. And, these three simple words brought me peace today.
Everything that I am going through is for a reason. A predestined, eternal reason. As Romans 8:28 says,
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Knowing that God is working on my behalf for my good for a specific purpose gives me comfort.
And I want you to know one thing today:
He is working on your behalf too. Every second of every hour of every day.
Jesus is standing before our Father in heaven talking about YOU. Hebrews 7:25 (CPDV) says, “And for this reason, he is able, continuously, to save those who approach God through him, since he is ever alive to make intercession on our behalf.”
Please hear me when I say this. Jesus is chatting with our Dad on your behalf! He is standing for you, cheering for you, and telling God the Father what a great kid you are.
Isn’t that fantastic?!
I know I’m super hyped!
And, no matter how bad it gets on our earthly home, or how sad the circumstances look, God is always working. He never sleeps. Seriously. Here’s proof. Are you ready for this?
Psalm 121:3-7 says, “He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over yo— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life;”
God watches over our lives. 🤯
Every aspect of them. He doesn’t miss a thing! (It’s that whole “not sleeping” thing.)
Are you getting this? You! God stays up 24 hours a day thinking about you.
And, watching over you.
And, loving you.
How does that make you feel? I know it gives me all the warm fuzzies. 🥰
And, I thank God for that.
